It was at Shenyang North Market from November 1933 to March 1934 when the place was under the rule of the Japanese and Puppet regime. There was a well-known clinic named “Zhengdetang Drugstore”, whose owner was Bu Zhentang, a renowned Manchu doctor. Inheriting family prescriptions for knife wounds and bone injuries, Bu Zhentang was famous in northeast China for his excellent treatment and was widely praised by the people. To obtain his prescriptions, the Japanese Kwantung Army resorted to every conceivable means. Bu Zhentang, however, did not cave and made every effort to protect his prescriptions even at the cost of his own life.
